Frequently Asked Questions

Orders & Payment

Where is my music download?

Licensed PDFs can be accessed from your customer account. Not showing up there? Sometimes orders need approval in our system. Hang tight and we'll get it approved as soon as we can!

Why can’t I access my download link?

We recently changed our website platform, but don’t worry — your order info is saved! Log in to your account with the same email address, then forward us your order email with a message of what you need and we’ll get your order sorted. Thanks!

What's my password to open my score?

The password to open your score is located on the page where you downloaded the file. The password will appear after you downloaded the PDF. Note: Each PDF/work has a separate, unique password.

What are digital scores?

Digital Scores are PDF versions of scores sent directly to your email address. Once you complete your order, you will be sent a PDF with a limited copy license to legally print the amount of copies for which you paid (emails will be sent within 3-5 business days). Please note that if more copies are needed, you must order the additional amount. Additional copies made above and beyond the number you purchase is copyright infringement and prohibited by U.S. copyright laws.

What is a limited copy license?

A limited copy license allows you to print and distribute only the number of scores you have purchased. Any further distribution, sharing, selling, or tampering with the copyrighted digital score is illegal under U.S. copyright law.

Can I share a PDF of my score with a colleague?

It is a breach of copyright law to share the licensed PDF with a colleague, on a website, or any other manner. Scores are specifically licensed to the person/institution that purchased them. Please supporting your living artists by not sharing PDFs!

Can I post a PDF of the score on my website for my ensemble members to view/download?

It is a breach of copyright law to upload and share your licensed PDF on your personal, school's, or ensemble's website. Please do not do this as anyone can search for this file and then freely share it. Please supporting your living artists by not sharing PDFs!

What are the penalties for violating copyright law?

If you are found to be making illegal copies of copyrighted works, you can face fines of $750 to $30,000 (statutory damages) and if the court finds willfulness, up to $150,000 per copyright infringement. If willful infringement for commercial advantage and private financial gain is proven, fines can increase up to $250,000 and/or 5 years imprisonment or both. I do not wish this on anyone so please be honest and support your independent composer!

Do you offer Practice Tracks?

Choral Tracks offers many of Jake's works - you can find practice tracks there!

How long do I have to access my PDF?

Licensed PDFs are available on our server for 30 days. After that time, the file is removed and will no longer be available for download. Please access and print your score within 30 days of making your order.

How do I purchase fewer scores?
